Helvetic Airways is expanding
Helvetic Airways is expanding its existing fleet of four Fokker 100 by an additional two aircraft of the same type. The 50% expansion in capacity will come into service from May/June 2010, principally for deployment in charter and scheduled flights. The additional Fokker 100's are an ideal addition of our fleet as, thanks to their identical configuration, the uniformity of the fleet is retained. "Passengers with Helvetic Airways value not only good service, but the generous seat spacing and high level of in-cabin comfort", as CEO Bruno Jans knows.
In the months to come, the staff complement of the airline will be raised by thirty full-time jobs to 150 employees. Recruiting and training of flight crew is fully under way. "On the one hand, Helvetic Airways will recruit experienced pilots, and on the other we benefit from working closely together with Horizon Swiss Flight Academy", explains CFO Tobias Pogorevc.
In the current business year 2009-2010, ending in March, numbers of passengers carried and passenger load factor have each increased in comparison with last year and for the third year in succession Helvetic Airways achieved a cash flow of around 5 million Swiss Francs.
