Uova di Pasqua - Easter surprise in Italy
In Italy, Easter is celebrated like in Switzerland as
an important festival in Christianity. In Apulia, different
processions are organised in the small villages and cities. Whether
the Mystery Procession in Bari or the Perdoni Procession in Taranto:
every village has its own tradition.
However, what they all have in common is the custom
of Easter eggs: they don’t go hunting for Easter eggs outdoors and
there is no Easter bunny. Instead, they make each other happy with
particularly large chocolate eggs (Uova di Pasqua), which are filled
with additional sweet surprises.
From 5 April, Helvetic Airways will operate a flight
to Brindisi every Thursday and Sunday.
