Helvetic Airways plans to add almost 100 new positions in 2020

Following the entry into service of its first state-of-the-art Embraer E190-E2 aircraft, Swiss regional airline Helvetic Airways is seeking to expand its cabin and cockpit crew corps.

The company aims to recruit around 100 new employees at its main Zurich Airport operating site between now and summer 2020. Over 70 new positions will be created in the cabin crew corps; and some 30 new pilots a year should be trained for service on the airline’s Embraer E190 jets. The basic flight attendant training courses will be held in February, March, April and May, and the corresponding selection process is already under way. Helvetic Airways offers a range of innovative working models which are designed to also appeal to students, people returning to the workforce and those seeking a change of career.

The Helvetic Airways fleet currently comprises 13 aircraft: eleven Embraer E190-E1s and two Embraer E190-E2s. Deliveries of the new E190-E2s will further accelerate in the first and second quarters of 2020; and by 2021 the Swiss regional airline will operate Europe’s most advanced and ecofriendly aircraft fleet.

Swiss regional airline Helvetic Airways provides a range of short- and medium-haul air services from various Swiss airports. The carrier deploys its Embraer E190-E2, E195-E2 and E190-E1 aircraft on scheduled, charter and wet-lease flights. At least six Helvetic Airways Embraer E190-E2s and E195-E2s are being operated in winter 2023/24 and summer 2024 on behalf of Swiss International Air Lines in summer 2023 under a long-term wet-lease agreement.

The Helvetic Airways workforce numbers over 510 employees. The company also has its own maintenance hangar and operation at Zurich Airport, which is further home to its corporate head office. The airline offers innovative part-time employment models to its cockpit and cabin personnel. For its cabin attendants these include ‘Ski&Fly’, ‘Fly&Study’ and the fully flexible ‘Fly your way’ model. Details of current vacancies at Helvetic will be found at career.helvetic.com.

Helvetic Airways has been working closely with Horizon Swiss Flight Academy AG (www.horizon-sfa.ch), which is based in Kloten, Switzerland, since 2008. Both companies are part of the Helvetic Airways Group, which is domiciled in Freienbach, Switzerland.
