Helvetic Airways - remains loyal to Bern!

Following a successful start, Helvetic Airways will remain based in Bern in 2012. With its Fokker 100, the Swiss airline plans to continue establishing a name for itself at Bern-Belp Airport. On the one hand, plans include expanding the list of destinations in southern Italy, as well as extending chartered flights with tour operators.

At the today's press conference at Bern Airport, Helvetic Airways announced a successful summer season 2011. The "Swiss cross" is set to be a ledger at Bern Airport in 2012 too. Scheduled flights will serve the southern Italian market and will be expanded by adding Catania to the list of destinations. Together with Kuoni Travel and other tour operators, Helvetic will offer the following charter destinations:

Monday:Saïdia (Morocco)
Tuesday:Djerba (Tunisia), Enfidha (Tunisia), Palma de Mallorca (Balearic Islands)
Wednesday:Heraklion (Greece)
Thursday:Kos (Greece)
Friday:Corfu/Zakinthos (Greece), Brindisi (Italy)
Saturday:Olbia (Sardinia)
Sunday:Palma de Mallorca (Balearic Islands), Catania (Italy)

High levels of customer satisfactionIn terms of customer satisfaction, Tobias Pogorevc, CFO Helvetic Airways, looks back on a good season. "Both the tour operators and passengers were excited about our product. This has been expressed in many letters and personal feedback. We want to fulfil these high expectations again in 2012."

Helvetic Airways operates Fokker 100 aircrafts. These aircraft types are equipped with impressive fittings, both - modern and comfortable. The generous seat pitch of 84 cm and the excellent on-board service make you feel flying business class – Swiss quality all along the line.

Swiss regional airline Helvetic Airways has been offering a range of short- and medium-haul services from Swiss airports since 2006. The airline operates Embraer E190-E2, E195-E2, E190 and E195 aircraft on scheduled, charter and wet-lease flights. Under a long-term wet-lease agreement, up to 15 Helvetic Airways aircraft operate on behalf of Swiss International Air Lines. 

Helvetic Airways employs around 600 people. The company also has its own maintenance hangar at its corporate headquarters at Zurich Airport, staffed by around 60 aircraft mechanics. The airline offers innovative part-time models in the cockpit and cabin such as, for cabin crew, the Ski&Fly and Fly&Study options as well as the fully flexible Fly your way model.
