Bern is going Helvetic!
Starting on 16th April 2011, Helvetic will be flying to several destinations in southern Europe and North Africa from Bern Airport. Scheduled flights will serve the Apulia region once a week (Fridays). In collaboration with tour operators Kuoni and Aaretal Reisen, Helvetic will offer the following charter destinations:

Helvetic Airways flies with Fokker 100 machines which are serviced by SR Technics and fitted with comfortable leather seats. Our generous seat allowance of 84cm gives you a business class feeling.
Tobias Pogorevc, Helvetic Airways' CFO, describes the strategy in Bern as follows: "Helvetic Airways will stay true to its tried and tested niche strategy. Up to now we have offered niche destinations abroad; from Spring 2011 we will also be serving the 'niche' destination of Bern. We believe it has great potential."

Swiss regional airline Helvetic Airways has been offering a range of short- and medium-haul services from Swiss airports since 2006. The airline operates Embraer E190-E2, E195-E2, E190 and E195 aircraft on scheduled, charter and wet-lease flights. Under a long-term wet-lease agreement, up to 15 Helvetic Airways aircraft operate on behalf of Swiss International Air Lines.
Helvetic Airways employs around 600 people. The company also has its own maintenance hangar at its corporate headquarters at Zurich Airport, staffed by around 60 aircraft mechanics.
