New Helvetic Airways flights to Monastir in Tunisia from Zurich and Geneva
Along with Kairouan and Sousse, Monastir is one of Tunisia’s first Arabic settlements, and was erected on the ruins of the ancient Punic-Roman city of Ruspina. Today, Monastir is a respected university city. The port also developed into an important trans-shipment centre within the olive oil trade. It has been one of Tunisia’s main tourist centres since the mid-1960s. Highlights of a holiday in and around Monastir include kilometres of beautiful sandy beaches bordering the warm Mediterranean and excursions to the nearby Sahara desert and other cultural sites. However, there’s more to Monastir than endless beaches: several 5-star resorts provide golfers and wellness enthusiasts alike with an exclusive range of facilities.
